About this site

Why aranattukara.org exists, who runs it, and how we write about history.

aranattukara.org is a community website about Aranattukara, a neighbourhood of Thrissur city in Kerala (at a glance). It is written for the people who live here, for those who have moved away, and for the next generation.

How we write history

We tell Aranattukara’s history in our own words, from published sources, records and the memories of residents — and we say where each fact comes from. Where sources disagree, we say so. Corrections with evidence are always welcome.

Photographs and privacy

We credit every picture we use. If a picture here is yours and you would like it credited differently or taken down, tell us. We ask before writing about living people, and family pages are opt-in.

Sources

Our most important printed source is Joy Chiramel’s Arranadu – Aranadu – Orunadu: Historical Faces of Aranattukara (Esens Books, Thrissur, 2024). Buy a copy — it is a remarkable piece of local history.
