Councillors of Aranattukara
Everyone we know of who has spoken for Aranattukara in Thrissur's municipal council, the Ayyanthole panchayat and the Thrissur Corporation.
Aranattukara has never had a council of its own. Until 2000 it was split between the Thrissur Municipality and the Ayyanthole panchayat. Since 2000 it has been part of the Thrissur Corporation, where the locality spans two wards: Aranattukara to the north, around the schools and convents, and Laloor, which takes in the old market and St. Thomas Church. See Aranattukara at a glance for a map of both wards.

The wards have been redrawn three times, so the numbers change: 52 wards in 2005, 55 from 2010 to 2020, and 56 from December 2025. In 2025 Aranattukara became ward 48 and Laloor ward 47.
The first Mayor of the Corporation, Jose Kattukkaran, was from Aranattukara. The book says he was elected from the Elthuruth division in one place and Karyattukara in another; we have not yet found the 2000 results to settle it.

We are missing the 2000 Corporation results, most of the years for the municipal councillors, and photographs of almost everyone here. If you have an old voters’ list, a souvenir, a newspaper cutting or a family photo, please tell us.
