Pavanatma Convent
A house of the Holy Family sisters on Convent Road, founded in 1983, whose work is visiting and supporting families.
Photo to come
Pavanatma Convent stands on Convent Road in Aranattukara, a little south of the Infant Jesus Convent. Like its older neighbour, it belongs to the Holy Family sisters. Pavanatma means the Holy Spirit.
A ministry to families
The convent was founded on 23 December 1983. Its sisters chose a quiet kind of work: visiting Christian families at home and helping them with their troubles.
The book records that from 1991, for about five or six years, the community set its other work aside and lived as a house of prayer. Afterwards the sisters took up family ministry again, this time working together with the parish to strengthen family life.
Help us tell more
The book has only a short note about this convent. If you know more about its work, or have memories of the sisters’ visits, we would be glad to hear from you.
